Liminal Spaces

Liminal Poem

I stand in awe

At the sight of this beauty, this different world

That comes to life in the midst

Of darkness and solitude

Liminal, minimal, extraterrestrial

Cosmic blue-violet

Tinged with pastel hues

Fluorescent light and freshly cut flowers

That memorable feeling lingers

Bewitched by nostalgia

It’s the window lights glowing above The Granada

The soft piano music playing

The chimney smoke vanishing into the night

The sound of a distant train

Evanescent

Nobody around

These places inhabited by day

But forsaken by night

I am here

Sitting on the bench for broken hearts

It’s just me and the white noise of a silent night

Savoring this isolation

Like it’s a vacation
